While its 1.0 launch has delivered impressive and continued success to the tune of a few million additional players, Palworld is still a bit squirrelly—particularly when it comes to bosses, who have presented some frustrating bugginess for multiplayer users.
Thankfully, Pocketpair has been fairly quick in addressing bugs and persistent issues that have appeared post-launch. The developer has pushed out a fresh patch this week, version 1.0.2, to bring a few of those unruly encounters in line.
The patch features two main boss fight fixes: First, the tower boss Victor & Shadowbeak should now correctly reappear after using a teleportation attack. Previously, the pair had a habit of simply winking out existence permanently in multiplayer sessions—something that I imagine was as distressing for the boss as it was for the players.

Second, Panthalus—the big, beautiful whale—should no longer crash the game or boot players from the session when confronted on dedicated servers. God-whales should have awesome powers and everything, but switching off reality doesn’t make for the best gameplay experience.
1.0.2 also addresses an issue where entering the World Tree when another player was already present in the area could make terrain display incorrectly, and it fixes lighting issues for downed players might have experienced if the final boss was defeated by a host while they were waiting to respawn.
In addition to a few other miscellaneous fixes for display issues, buggy achievements, and soft-locks during quest dialogue, the patch adds the ability to rebind the “Attack that enemy!” command, which should make ordering Pals in combat more pleasant.
