The struggle isn’t nearly what it used to be, but there was a time when most of us assumed big new console game announcements did not include plans for a PC release—or even if we did get one, it wasn’t launching in a timely manner.

Sometimes it’s still a nasty wait, but I’ve come to expect most games I’m interested in will launch for PC either on the same day or at least within the year. I reckon that’s changing for Sony’s first-party singleplayer games, and then there’s the other outlier in Rockstar. PC probably won’t see Grand Theft Auto 6 until November 2027. Hell, it may be 2028.
