Ubisoft chief says Sony's decision to kill game discs isn't going to be a big deal

Sony’s decision to stop producing game discs in 2028 has caused a real uproar. Some PlayStation owners see a dire future as they become dependent on digital services and lose the ability to trade old games in for new ones, while at least one analyst says we’ll all get used to it quickly enough anyway. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has now weighed into the debate, and he’s clearly in the “no big deal” camp.

Guillemot was asked during today’s quarterly investors call if Sony’s decision might create “a demand headwind,” because of the loss of the secondary market for PlayStation games.
